Officers!
Farmington Toastmasters is now finalizing the 2008/2009 officer slate. Our officers this year have served the club well and we have had an awesome year! It is time for the mantle of leadership to be passed and allow members the experience of leadership in the club. Please contact our President with your recommendation for a nominee.




The Contest Is Over
Farmington Toastmasters was the proud host of the Area D4 contest in April. We were especially proud of Delvin who placed first in Tall Tales and of Tracey who placed second in International. Our heartfelt congratulations go out to Lorraine of Farmington speaks for an incredible speech that earned her first place in the International category. We were very pleased to have Richard Franz Sr. and Richard Franz Jr. from Cheshire in attendance. Congratulations to Richard Franz Jr. for second place in Tall Tales.



New Home
Farmington Toastmasters has started meeting at the Farmington Community Center. We are grateful to the Gable in Farmington for 15 years of friendship and hospitality. Unfortunatley we have outgrown the room we met in and have had to accomodate our larger meetings.



Happy New Year!
Well, Happy New Fiscal Year anyway. Toastmasters has started its new year for 2007-2008. Farmington Toastmasters has new officers, a new vision and some new members already. The club also gets to celebrate the Select Distinguished Club award for 2006-2007. Come by and meet the new officers!

Do Your Due!
It is time for our twice-yearly dues to TI. The club has to pay TI by April 1, 2007. Dues are $35 per member. These are due at the March 14th meeting. Make all checks out to Farmington Toastmasters and bring them on March 14th. We will write one check to TI for the full amount. The break down for our dues is $27 per person to TI and $8 to the club for expenses.



Farmington Toastmasters Has 15th Anniversary Party
Farmington Toastmasters held its 15th anniversary dinner at the Oasis in Bristol on February 28th. Among the successes at the dinner were the first speakathon to be held at the club, awarding the first AC-B of the year for the club, and the announcement that the club has officially completed 5 DCP goals as of the end of February. Guests at the dinner had a wonderful time. The Division Governer was heard to say, "I wish I ate this well at all Toastmaster meetings!"



Farmington Toastmasters Signed The 10th New Member
Farmington Toastmasters is proud to announce our 10th new member. We set a goal to gain 10 new members in the 2006-2007 year and we have succeeded!! Gary signed up on january 24th. He will be giving his icebreaker on February 28th. Guests to Farmington Toastmasters meetings have found a fun, pleasant atmosphere. Come on down and give us a try.



A Meeting On The 5th Wednesday?
Yes. It is true. Farmington Toastmasters will have an unprecedented meeting on the 5th Wednesday of November in 2006. The date is November 29th. We have so many people wanting to speak that we need the extra meeting. See you there!



Farmington Toastmasters Shine As Hosts
The area contest was a success! We came out smelling like roses if I do say so myself. Farmington Toastmasters also gained two new members, welcome Greg and John. The President himself has raved about how amazing Joe, Fliomena, Tracey and all the Farmington crew are. He could not me more proud of our club or its members. "I could not be more proud," he was quoted as saying.

Membership Reaches New High
Farmington Toastmasters is pleased to announce our membership is 20 after signing up 3 new members at the May 24th meeting. We happily welcome Ryan, Shirley, and Lori to the club. Fsrmington Toastmasters is still working toward 25 total members in the next 5 weeks!




We Have A Winner!
Farmington Toastmasters' own Joe K. won first place in the area contest in April 12th. Speakers from neighboring clubs were there and we heard several amazing speeches. Farmington Toastmasters was honored to host this contest and so many great speakers.




Healthy Competition
Farmington Toastmasters is hosting its club contest on March 22, 2006. We have members who are looking to go to the Area contest in the International and Tall Tales division. The Area contest will be hosted by Farmington Toastmasters on April 12, 2006. Speakers from clubs in the area will all gather at the Gables to enjoy several rounds of great, dynamic speeches.

Farmington Toastmasters is Growing
Farmington Toastmasters has the pleasure of welcoming seven new members since January 2006. Sarah, Joe, Kim, Brij, Del, Becky, and Bill have all launched into their paths of new found confidence and leadership by taking on the Toastmasters International Communications and Leadership Series. By Following the series and becoming Competent Toastmasters (CTM), they will allbe well on their way to increases success in their lives. Please help us welcome them.




The End Is Near (Of 2005 That Is)
Farmington Toastmasters is planning a festive, fun meeting at the Farmington Library on December 14th at 7:15 PM. You can count on laughter, new speakers, old speakers, coffee, cookies and more. We will be welcoming new members and inviting as many guests, Toastmasters and former Toastmasters as possible. The Executive Committee will be contacting people about scheduling and preparation.




Meetings Change Venue
Excitement abounds for the rest of 2005 as Farmington Toastmasters lines up the last 4 meetings of 2005 at the Farmington Public Library. October meetings will be held in the boardroom. We will see if the cozy office-like environment helps deliver real world experience for speeches. The November and December meetings are in the Community Room at the library. So many people enjoyed the great space that we have responded to popular demand. Look forward to enjoying meetings at the Community Room again!

September 14 Meeting To Be At Farmington Public Library
You are cordially invited to our open house and demonstation meeting on Wednesday September 14th at 7:30 pm. Find us in the community room of the Farmington Library at 20 Monteith Drive. This meeting is the beginning of an initiative of the new officers to expand the club's membership and help take leadership and communication skills out to the community.




New Officers Installed On July 13th
The 2005 Nominating Committee is pleased to announce the Farmington Toastmasters officers slate for 2005-2006. We are excited by the new faces in our leadership positions. Even the newest members have an opportunity to learn leadership in the new year at Farmington Toastmasters.




Farmington Toastmasters has Two New CTMs
Farmington Toastmasters announces Brian B. and Kris N. have achieved CTM status in Toastmasters International. Brian and Kris are long standing members with big hearts and great speeches. Upon giving his final speech for CTM, Kris was heard to say, "Wow, that was great! This has made a big difference in my professional life." A CTM requires 10 speeches of various types delivered to the members of the club.




New ATM-B Added To Farmington Toastmasters
Sue K. has earned her ATM-Bronze in 2005. Sue is a long time member and past president of Farmington Toastmasters. When she completed her tenth speech, Jay said, "That Sue, she is a real gem." The ATM-B requires 10 additional speeches above the CTM curriculum.
